Between the Image and the Word

IMG_1470

Between the image and the word,
not wholly in one room, not passed
into the puddling of daisies,
or smells from an unseen sea
or images from remembered poems:
just one foot through a door
while the interpreting body
follows unthinking, because
momentum is a law unto itself.

– Wm. Marling
