Alpe d’Huez — twice! — on July 18


The Dutch will already be arriving in their caravans, well stocked with lager. Some Danes and some Germans too. The French will come the day before, or the morning of. This is going to be one of the most memorable stages of the Tour in many years, and it comes after Mont Ventoux and an individual time trial. It’s 132 klicks, over 100 miles, in length.

Will Chris Froome still be in the lead?
